Reviews
- Edited 2 years agoThe first time I heard RATM was in the Matrix, at the end of the movie, with the song "Wake Up". Immediately fell in love. Amazing band, huge inspiration, amazing stuff!
- I gotta say I think this pressing sounds spectacular. Admittedly I haven't heard any pressed from the Bob Ludwig cut, but I know the material well and I'm not missing anything in detail and impact. There's a bit of surface noise, but when the band's in full flight who cares.
Not regretting picking this one up! - Meller butchered this. Best vinyl is the original US '92 as that was cut all analogue and is the ONLY all analogue pressing of this album. Best overall for me is the Hoffman-mastered SACD, you've never heard this album without all Bob's eq and it sounds even more powerful. Not knocking Bob's mastering, far better than Meller's, but Hoffman's is where it's at.
- If you have a chance to listen to the first pressing (by Bob Ludwig),
you will not even bother to listen to this :) - Great pressing. The sound is perfect, has real punch and dynamics. Record is also dead quiet. Highly recommend
- Can’t agree with the below comments, I find this release/remaster very decent and well above average. I have the original and can say that they are not the same but not far apart. In some occasions it is even with lower surface noise. This album is intended to be played in high SPL !
