All the praise is valid in my opinion. Everytime i play this record i have to put everything else down, just sit there and listen to all the details. The soundstage, The clarity, The warmth, you just don't want to miss anything.

I have dozens of VMP releases, MoFi releases, even some Analogue Productions albums, and this one sounds better than 99% of the albums I own. It's truly expansive, impressively deep, crisp and absolutely immersive.

This album became an instant reference for my vinyl system, because it does everything well. When I change a component or add some kind of isolation or any other tweak, this is one of the first albums I play to hear the acoustic effect of the change, because I know the record is mastered and pressed well enough to let me hear any nuanced characteristic that may have changed.

If you enjoy this music at all, I can't recommend this pressing enough. It's one of those showcase albums you can throw on to help folks new to vinyl understand why we go through all this trouble. It truly is one of the best examples within the format.

I guess my copy was pressed at the wrong time of day because there is quite a bit of surface noise off and on throughout both discs. The actual audio sounds perfect, but the surface noise is irritating. I love this album, though. Fiona Apple Rocks.

One of the best sounding records I own. I enjoyed this album while streaming it but it blew my mind when my physical copy arrived. Sounds so rich and full. Brought this amazing album to the next level for me. Well done VMP.

This is one of my favourite records in my collection. The sound is fantastic, it sounds so full and warm with a huge soundstage to boot.

The packaging also deserves huge praise - the image quality of the sleeve and accompanying lyric booklet is striking. It leaves near enough nothing to be desired, which is more than can be said for VMP's later pressing of When The Pawn, unfortunately.

Having not listened to this album in at least 20 years, I had the great pleasure of rediscovering why I enjoyed these songs in the first place. But, I wasn’t prepared for exactly how incredible this pressing was going to sound. I figured it would sound good, since so many people have been hyping it up in their reviews, but there is next level mastering at work in this release. There is an unmatched silky smoothness to the mix that is especially captivating in Fiona’s voice. Every instrument is deeply present with there also being nuances that I never noticed on my original CD. The soundstage is huge and, in many sections, hypnotic with sound swelling all around you. I listened to most of it with my eyes closed, which allowed each song to present a different enveloping feeling, but all had me envisioning a literal wall of sound. On top of the stellar sound quality, there is zero background noise, the pressing is clean and precise, and the artwork on the gatefold jacket and nice little included book is all high quality. I can not recommend this one enough, but get one soon before the price climbs any higher.
