Title appears as:
Solid Steel Presents DJ Food & DK - Now, Listen Again!

Spine reads: "This is the eighth in a series of Solid Steel mixes - collect them all"

0: This is a hidden pregap track, accessible by inserting the disc into a CD player, pressing "Play" and then pressing and holding the reverse music search button until the time reads 1:39. Release the music search button and the track plays counting down from 1:39 to 0:00. The audio begins at 1:18 and is described in DJ Food's own words as follows:
"The hidden track starts with a sample of a spaceship - 'Needle 1' - communicating with his base. He is hovering over a 'flat, transparent disc, revolving at about 33 and a third rpm', he is commanded to 'set down in the outer groove needle 1'. He counts down as he descends and when the needle lands we get a heavily compressed megamix of the first Now, Listen Solid Steel mix CD from 2001. All the tracks are condensed into fleeting moments before the intro segues into the opening of the new mix proper".

25: Due to licensing problems, this release has Rodney P's "The Nice Up (Re-Rub)" replacing Reggie Stepper's "Drum Pan Sound" that appears on the Promo.

2007 saw DJ Food and DK release the final chapter in the eight part Solid Steel Ninja Tune mix series that they started off in 2001. As before, Food and DK journey through multiple genres and eras creating bespoke mash-ups, this time taking in '70s psychedelic rock (Moroder) and soul (Jo Ann Garrett), '80s electro-pop (New Order) and hip hop (Eric B & Rakim), '90s ambience (Aphex Twin) and jungle (DJ Zinc), and '00s breaks (DJ Shadow), hip hop (Fallacy), drum 'n' bass (Pendulum) and dub (Roots Manuva).

The mix gets off to a poor start, with some mediocre hip hop (Z-Trip & Soup), an oddly chosen mash-up of Rakim rapping over Timbaland, The Human League and "The Old Grey Whistle Test" theme, and mediocre breaks from Cut Chemist and Pepe Deluxe. But then it takes off, with a psychedelic rock sequence that starts with Cozy Powell's "Dance With The Devil", and a cover of Hendrix's "Purple Haze" brilliantly transitioning from Ram Jam's "Black Betty" to Primal Scream's gospel-rock "Revenge Of The Hammond Connection". The mash-ups are innovative, with Bomb The Bass's Merlin rapping to the aforementioned Scream track, Ndidi Cascade blended with Aphex Twin's "Nannou", and Fallacy blazing over New Order's "Blue Monday".

The mix then shifts up a gear with some blistering drum 'n' bass from DJ Zinc, The Qemists and Pendulum, accompanied by vocals from Roots Manuva, Rodney P, Spyda and Tenor Fly, before catching its breath with some downtempo cut-up dub (Steinski) and blissful soul (The Dragons). Food for the soul indeed.
