- Edited 6 months agoTOMMY got it spot on! Rock On Tommy! But im afraid this time he got it wrong. 148 Schafe is the banger on this EP., proper banger. The man Stu Allan knew it too. Rocking Tune!. You play that at 148bpm on high volume, you will thank me later. Sound Of Frankfurt Vol 2!
- My favorite track on this EP by far is 148 Schafe. Mental Breakbeat Rave techno, similar to what Holy Ghost was putting out around this time. There is a video of Jeff Mills playing this track back in 1993 in the bowels of YouTube somewhere.
- I bought this record to fill up an order and I just played it in the turntable. Wow. I am now playing it again. What a record, what a bargain. All tracks are recommended, but side A is the best in my opinion. Enjoy the trip
- Also found on Kickin records Techno Nations II compilation, Flying Area is a special track. Strangulated and tightly reverbed moody 303 layers overlaid by dreamy strings, punctuated with little stabby sounds. Reminds me of dark acid classics such as the much acclaimed Vainqueur's Lyot. Sacrilege probably, but I think it's as good ...
- Edited 14 years agoThis is a quality production. All tracks are of high quality but I would skip straight track A2 - "Flying Area". Amazing. It leaves you in a state of shock.
It starts off with intense orchestral strings like something from a war movie score. Then it hits you. Believe me it truly hits you for six.
This tune still sounds fresh now, 10 years or so since it's release. It has one of the most EVIL analogue lines ever heard. Nice distortion. It just keeps coming at you. EVIL!!! The analogue riff itself changes at intervals throughout the track but the modulation/cut off filters keeps it flowing to retain a definate sound to the tune. The strings kick back in about half way through, atop the analogue madness. It all goes a mental when the strings die down again. Knob turning trickery at the top level.
When I first heard this I nearly creamed my pants. Years later when I managed to get a copy I creamed my pants again. Messy.
If you don't own this and you like hard Techno with analogue lines then add this to your wishlist. NOW!
