- Tried 2 vinyl copies and both have a defect on side b second track towards the end... I have to raise the stylus and move half a cm forward then drop back down otherwise it will stick, very sad because it's a brilliant EP...
- i left flagstaff, az at 7am. it had snowed a few inches, enough to cover the ground. i was about 30 min outside of the petrified forest and i decided to put this on (it had been awhile since i had listened). it was also very foggy. driving through the forest, with the weather conditions, made for a truly surreal soundtrack and experience. but then the album was over. i was still 208 miles from albuquerque and even further from home.
- Edited one year agoYou can play this album before Aphex Twin's 'selected ambient works 2' and it would fit perfectly.
- i must've been really lucky cause my copy sounds flawless, literally. i got it from geir's bandcamp after it had been sold out for a while so maybe something was fixed upon the repress.
maybe you'll get lucky too if you don't have a copy yet
(also this "mini-album"/ep is amazing) - We're now at the point where my teenage children say "Dad, you keep on playing that same album. You know, the one where she says "here in this desert..it's the same thing over and over again" And we all just laugh and shrug about how the song is so 'meta'... As it shows, one of my favourites.
- This mini LP has become one of my favorites in my collection. Geir has captured some magic on this LP. I always seem to come back to it after all these years.
- Edited 3 years agoMy new unplayed copy which came in shrink wrap has the same problem! It is very noisy and sounds as if it was 20 years old and had been played a 100 times already. Most of the older records in my collection don't sound like that. That said, the music itself is brilliant and I second everything that has been said about it in the reviews here. However, I would recommend buying the CD or digital format.
I have three vinyl copies and all three are very noisy, full of pops and clicks.
It's a shame because the music is excellent.
Has anyone experienced the same?- This is absolutely gorgeous and I can't recommend it highly enough, but it also really threw me by how beat-driven & song-oriented it turned out to be. I tend to think of Biosphere as more ambient, playing with space and density, so this caught me off guard in the best possible way!
