Perhaps this is sacriligious, but the poor sound quality, bad beatmatching and tape hiss make me feel like I'm listening to one of my brother's old Kiss FM tapes when I was 12. I love it and having recently discovered Dan Curtin, I love his prog tendencies, switching beats and samples midway through songs, in some ways he's the closest I've come to finding more Black Dog material. This is a great record, and if you like it, try Deception and Silicon Dawn, his previous two.
Similar to Black Dog, Luke Slater, B12, Polygon Window, and most of the Ambient/Detroit Techno producers of the early 90s.

I can happily second that here is not one bad track on this collection of Dan Curtin's rare early releases - but the overall sound quality of this mixed CD itself sadly isn't that convincing. To be honest, this one sounds quite like an old mixtape recorded with bad needles. Plus, the mixing/beatmatching is not always tight enough to provide full listening pleasure.
Still brings back memories and has its good moments, though. After all, this is a fine collection of Dan Curtin's versatile musical genius. A nice souvenir.

This is all early (and great) Dan Curtin stuff, much of it released on Buzz Records (Belgium) or Curtin's Metamorphic label and quite hard to find. Fans of the "Panic In Detroit" compilation on Buzz as well as fans of great early nineties Detroit techno will be blown away by this release and Curtin's 1994 Peacefrog full-length debut, entitled "The Silicon Dawn".
