- Edited 4 years agoThe Hard Mix is a great tune that in 1994 sounded a few years ahead of it's time. It's an amalgamation of stomping tech house/hard house, some depth and a dark/uplifting riff. It's one of those tunes that stands out in a set and I heard it played by Carl Cox, Sasha and Jeremy Healy in the mid 90s. A diverse anthem 👍
- crackin' tune love this 1
first time i heard it played was on an old vertigo or paul oakenfold or it could of been sasha top tune...... - Edited 7 years agoEcho Drop is a great tune with two different mixes to choose from on this 12"
The "Dub" mix plays on deep sounding piano hook, with layered strings & synths building the track higher & higher. Great mix with plenty of energy, that worked a treat.
"Hard" Mix is as it says, with its tougher full on beats that drop into a dirty dark synth hook, that morphs into a piano hook layered with strings in the breakdown, kicking back in with the tougher synth hooks. Fantastic mix with bags of energy and a tough edge. Big tune in its day and still sounds great today. I think you can take your pick on the mixes, both are good in their own right. - Edited 9 years agoThe Hard version has such a catchy bassline! Great house tune. It definitely sounds less dated than most house tracks I have heard from 90-94. Forget about the Dub version, it's pretty typical and boring compared to the Hard version.
- Punchy, driving, solid, a few words to descripe this "serious as cancer" Hard mix.
Its drives a steak through your heart with the relentless bassline.
To lighten the load it delivers a female vocal stab. .... "give the love".
Gotta say, a noise effect in this was used in Strikes high street club candy beer monster handbag sickbag clubber comercial tune - U Sure Do. But dont let that put you temporarily off.
This progressive tune is dangerous left in the wrong hands.
Flip over to Dub side and you have an addition of a hard hitting Piano line. You would expect a piano line to uplift. Not here, its too god dam serious to give you any hope. Fuck its a good mid 90s EP.
Like all things in the 90s it very much had a concious note. "Give The Love" - Edited 15 years agoWhat we have hear is a hard, punchy, deliberate house tune.
Its coming at ya, and its armed with a striking piano line and a female vocal stab.
"Give the love".
House on the verg of being progressive, but with all the delivery of a hard house/techno tune.
This tune was going to be called Take One - E Drop.
But they changed there minds in the management office.
