I bought this remix only because it's Pepper, however it sounds flat in comparison the UK 1st press, lacks the punch. The lower frequencies are boosted and the soundstage is flat, yes they did centralise the lead vocals but at the expense of the charm. Ringo's drums don't have the punch as the UK 1st pressing either. Why do a lot of engineers boost the mid bass and low bass of earlier pressings, just because they can? This is a gimmicky sounding pressing but I'm sure that it could be liked by those who didn't grow up listening to the original. A later 70's German pressing would be a better choice for those not wanting to spend a lot on a UK 1st pressing.

My copy sounds very very nice. Its a mint copy, with also the sleeve perfect. But there is a very bad thing: It seems some of the run-outs no not work. More of the sides simply let the pick-up skate over the label. And that's not acceptable, so now i am totally awake and lift in time. Its the only album with this. Anyone heard the same?

I feel this is much more of an upgrade in sound compared to the Abbey road or Let it be Remix. I REALLY dig this press, very powerful but can totally understand why some might not dig it.
Don’t pass this up before it gets too expensive, hopefully it gets repressed.

I’m in the “This sounds mind-blowing fantastic” boat. I have a couple other AAA stereo pressings of this album, and a couple of AAA mono pressings. This 2LP anniversary edition makes for my favorite listening of the bunch. There’s a single LP version pressed at MPO—(this edition is pressed in Germany if I’m not mistaken)—which sounds exceptional too. If you can get your hands on this edition, you’ll get the song sketches/sessions of the entire album on a second LP plus some top-quality packaging and reproduction sleeves and inserts. Good hunting :)

I say no! This record sounds nice, but it doesn't rock like the old original releases, whether it's from the UK, Germany or wherever. Every song is tonally the same now, it's a bit audiophile at times, but I repeat myself, it doesn't rock anymore, it's not dirty anymore. And I think that's a shame. Of course, it's good that you can hear a few more details here and there. And everyone has to decide for themselves what they want to hear. It's the swallowed up details that make the old editions rock.

Snatched a used copy for $25 at a store, never stop crate-digging because you'll never know what you may find! As for the quality of the pressing, it's outstanding and the sessions are definitely the highlight of this release.

A great alternative that rivals the mono mix, sounds fantastic. It's basically the mono mix remastered and remixed into trippy stereo! Who cares if "it wasn't how the beatles originally intended" for people to listen to? It fuckin' rocks and that's all that matters.
