This album is very original. As a Zappa listener, Marcoeur's music and texts rang a big bell.
The music is challenging and humoristic, the band is very tight, the lyrics are originals and humoristic as well and perfectly fit their musical context.
C'est raté, c'est raté is about an unsuccesful sex act, Tu tapes trop fort is about a guy nailing that keeps hitting his fingers because he strikes too hard.and don't want to listen to advices, so every chorus paf paf paf paf aouch !...

I saw Marcoeur in Rouen in the late 70's and they opened playing a card game around a table on the scene.
A the card game progressed, it turned into rythm, with the sound of the card played on the table, with their exclamation ... and the rythm strucutre became more and more rich and complex and became a piece of music. Fantastic !

This allbum, as well as Album à colorier and Armes & Cycles are pure original gems.

Great album of French avant-jazz - it's an accessible, occasionally challenging listen - and loaded with sublime playing and crazy instrumental hooks. It's also lots of fun with some genuinely very funny moments.
I've played this album many, many times since I got it from Recommended Records back in the '70s and haven't really plumbed its depths yet.
