Although originally only released on cassette, this is one of the best rediscoveries that's come through from Habibi Funk. Arrangements, instrumentation and lyrics are out of this world. Expect rolling jazz-funk and disco vibes, sprinkled with sparse but highly effective use of synthesizers. The final product is wonderfully psychedelic, while remaining grounded in its musical tradition. The detailed leaflet translates the warm and deep lyrics into English, and sheds light on the quirky but spirited Weltanschauung of Hany Shanouda and his band. The Habibi Funk pressing sounds very good, with the exception of Asef Gidden (where a compressed original might have been used).
