Photek – Modus Operandi

Perhaps the most significant electronica album from the last 30 years. A masterpiece. The CD sounds absolute awesome.

Minotaur...The tune which i used to check how crisp Pre and Power amps for home use were when i was in the market for some fairly high end high Power Amps, Harman Kardon signature Series is what i settled on, Minotaur was and still is one of my favourite tunes and this album is another reason why Rupert Parkes has to be one of the finest minds in the music fraternity..

A timeless record, in the true sense of the word. 12 years later, it still is futuristic & focused, atmosphere, drum programming, the works. A powerful record that will inspire generations to come. Call it what you want to call it, drum & bass, jungle, experimental, this record is beyond any definition.

Jazzy, spacey beats which sound fresh by comparison to many drum'n'bass contemporaries. An intriguing, quite sexy album let down only by a couple of filler tracks. Not the most played album of its genre within my collection, but something of an occasional fave for a chillout session.

A cold, frozen journey thru electronic bleakness and rigid drum sequences, where machines seem to have gained the upper hand on the human factor. All in all, a unique experience.
