Reviews
- This pressing sounds absolutely phenomenal. Great full frequency response, silky smooth high end, no issues with distortion or sibilance, deep tight bass, just fantastic. Really does service to this fantastic album. Additionally, the heavy weight 180g vinyl is a nice touch. I wish the non limited edition version had a gatefold cover, and the printing on the jacket cover looks a little low res. But sonically the record sounds absolutely top notch!
- This really is an incredible pressing. Sounds phenomenal and one of my favorite records in my collection.
- Pressing - 5/5
Zero complaints. Flat, quiet, heavyweight vinyl. No surface noise anywhere. Added bonus, the records were nice and clean right out of the shrink.
Mastering - 5/5
Excellent all around. Very dynamic, great soundstage, tons of detail - just like you’d expect from a Kevin Gray master. If you’ve ever listened to any of the Tone Poet jazz records that he’s done, this is the same quality level all around (which feels weird to say about a 311 record but it’s true)
Packaging - 4.5/5
My only knock is that I always prefer gatefolds for 2 LP sets. Other than that, it’s great, and the records come in the excellent poly sleeves from RTI that I wish every record came in.
Overall - 5/5
If you like this album, this is a must have. Among the best in my collection. - Edited 2 years agoFantastic pressing, very dynamic and sounds great. Do find it a little odd that it isnt cut at 45RPM but still, great press, great album. Would anyone happen to know if the original press is better/worse? Goes for way too much for me to bother, just curious.
- This pressing sounds *amazing*. Crisp hi-hats, snappy snares, boomin' bass, and lyrics (and samples) that slice through it all. Loud, without **** gettin' drastic.
