Reviews
- While the original album is this beautiful mixture of upbeat melancholy, chance and error, the additional songs on this disc are mostly fillers documenting some of the creative process but for the most part remain a downright boring listen. "Dirty Disco II" audibly leans towards Cabaret Voltaire of that time and could very easily be mistaken as such, deceptively upbeat but getting nowhere in particular. It's "pre-mix" version fares even worse for that matter with further lyrical inanity. In retrospect, "Beating Heart" is reminiscent of A Popular History Of Signs' track "Crowds", as both tracks were done around the same time... Of the bonus tracks lot, only "Back To Wonder" benefits nicely along with the "restructure" version of their best known song from this era - "Looking From A Hilltop". Again, its additional "Megamix" version is unnecessary and torturously boring.
