This is such a jam; heard it on The Wire when Cutty meets up with the Barksdale crew and this is blasting on the SUV stereo. Amazingly it sounds even better on the show because of the natural reverb of the track blasting out of the car speakers onto the street. Can't help think of another Baltimore connection in Maurice Fulton.. female vocals, tight drum programming, Bootsy-esque bassline funking off the beat... wonder if Beef Wellington was taking inspiration as the vibe on this track is similar to the Chantilly record which came out a couple years earlier. Beef Wellington entree, Chantilly for dessert!
