PROs: Hypnotic electronic music where wood percussion plays a major role. 'The Red Tower' is reminds me of Orbital's 'Inside' album with a twisted & dark touch.
CONs: Though it's not easy to stop the album once you press the play button, it's not either easy to find the right moment to swallow all 39 mins of the LP.
IN A NUTSHELL: An essential melting pot of rhythms and textures.
Amid a selection of other vibrant, organic and bubbling electronic trips, the song No Hopper, a rework of a track from the album Rastafari Dub, finally gets an official release under the artist himself. Not really a household name in electronic music Al Chem is non the less a very accomplished artist and deserves more recognition. Weird Fiction is released on the Art Yard label so far best know for excellent Sun Ra re-issues so this particular electronic release is bound to go under the radar despite its qualities.
