Show All 42 Reviews- I love it. I recommend it all the time. Especially if you like the fragile. Especially if you like Ghosts.
- Edited 5 months ago'The Fragile' remained my favorite album since I first heard it, but now it has a successor. I absolutely love this version, which I now consider the 'definitive' version. Honestly, I've never been that partial to Reznor's style of lyrics, and I think this is a great vessel for letting the music really speak for itself. Even if some of the newly unearthed material occasionally sounds like unfinished songs that they might have given up on halfway through, the treatment they are given here doesn't make them feel like it, it's all very cohesive. Plus, some of the new instrumentals are really, really fascinating.
For anyone wondering in case no one else mentions, the instrumental versions are not simply karaoke tracks, nor are the original instrumental pieces the same as the original album. It all is given new life and intensity. If The original version feels like an expansive adventure of danger, loss, and beauty, this version will feel like a much-deserved scenic route. - Been sold out several times on nin.com now and yet up for sale again.
"When they are gone they are gone"....not so much TR. much like that reptile cassette...not so much. - So I had been hesitating to pull the trigger on this album because I had just picked up The Fragile a few months back. Zero buyer's remorse here, a totally different listening experience and absolutely worth it. If you plan on cranking it up and spinning the entire 4xLP in one sitting, settle in and there's a good chance you'll come out on the other side a different person. Highly Recommended!
- Wow, just WOW this sounds amazing. I love all of Trent's major vinyl releases and this one just sounds so perfect. Out of all my 90's and newer music on vinyl nearly all of NIN's albums sound amazing and is as far as I'm concerned the standard that everyone else should be following. With that said I do wish there was some artwork with this particular album - maybe they figured not many would buy it, and I get that but it sure would have been nice for us hardcore fans. I didn't think I would like this much but after listening to it I absolutely love it. If you liked the instrumental tracks on the original The Fragile, then you will like this - because that's all it is. The tracks that were originally instrumental are different versions on this album though, but still a fun listen. Very happy that I got this.
- Echoing another comment asking for this release on CD.
I know vinyl is hip and all, but a box-set in the style of The Smashing Pumpkins' reissue ones, collecting The Fragile in his complete and destructured form - this was definitely a missed opportunity to provide fans with something of a really encyclopedic value. The music and feelings expressed here are groundbreaking. - Is there actually a diffirence between the Limited Edition vinyl version and the "regular" vinyl version?
Could somebody help me out with this, because it looks like it's just the same release but than $20 more expensive.
