I agree w/ the comment below 100%, both Daily Nightly and Writing Wrongs deserve WAY more love and this was the perfect opportunity. Funny, too, that Porpoise Song actually came out AFTER the Summer of Love. I'm OK w/ it being included, but it begs the question of why Long Title: Do I Have To Do This All Over Again & Can You Dig It were not included, but Birth Of An Accidental Hipster (from 2016 no less) was.

A psychedelic Monkees compilation without Daily Nightly or Writing Wrongs??? Very disappointing. The packaging and vinyl - and idea - is gorgeous, but missing some core (in my opinion) tracks from the psychedelic corners of their catalog makes it a pass for me. There is a lot from the first two albums which is very surprising. Holding out for a volume two?? :)

Uneven compilation, but the record is pretty. Crackling throughout on my new copy. "For Pete's Sake" is fried in sibilance.

Great songs, as always, but a terrible compilation, given the theme. The band had far more "psychedelic" material than what is on display here, and if its focus was on the "Summer of Love" then it should have stuck to tracks from '67. Good music, but an inconsistent theme.
