Reviews
- Just opened mine to find out one of the labels was from some other release....the orange vinyl is very cool and everything else is perfect. It's the side that has Gods of War, Don't Shoot Shotgun and Run Riot. The label says Parlophone and are labeled to be songs by Paul Weller? Interesting...
- Does anyone know how many of these were pressed? I keep seeing ONLY 500 MADE on eBay, but it seems I've seen at least 500 for sale, so that can't be right. :)
- I waited several years for this album to be released after my favorite album pyromania blew me away and made me a devoted def lepprd fan at 11 years of age. I stuck With them and read all the information I could find in the rock Magazines in he mid 80s. When I bought the Lp the day it came out in august 87, 63 minutes of Music was crammed on to one Lp. This was a sad detail in an otherwise fantastic gift from the heaven. A release of this magnitude With such expectations deserved a better fate than cramming 63 minutes of rock n roll on one Lp. It was the cd era. 90% of the labums was to be bought on cd, so I Guess the record company took a set of blind eyes towards those still consumed by vinyl. Now in 2017 hysteria is finally released as it should have been in 87, on 2Lps. I had heard some not so flattering reviews so I put the first record on expecting to not hear anything different, but BAM! It is louder and prouder in the smooth vinyl way. This 2Lp set sounds great! Very very satisfied With killer crisp sounds I have never heard before. Details here and there makes it sound remixed! so fine!!! 30 years I have waited for this. Like getting hysteria the way it should have been for the first time 30 years too late.
- I was very interested to hear this 30th anniversary re-issue as I know this album intimately (I was 11 in 1987 and at the time this was the coolest thing I'd ever heard!). Having listened to it I'm pretty happy. The SQ is nice and the packaging is superb. I haven't blind tested it against my NZ original as a comparison as yet, but I think the "new" version will stand up pretty well. I've had a bad run with reissues of late, with some being almost unlistenable in my opinion, so it's a nice change to actually enjoy an update for a change!
- great sounding and great looking release in a gatefold sleeve. not worth the price flippers are asking so if you didn't get a copy stick with the black vinyl reissue
- Edited 7 years agoThis "Remastered Edition" sounds a tad clearer with a little more bottom end than my OG pressing, but not much. The orange vinyl is a nice touch and the packaging is of good quality. I think it would have been helpful if detailed production credits on this particular release would have been included also. In short, unless you don't have a copy of Hysteria already, save your $$$.
