just picked up one of these from TTL and my first copy was unplayable bc there was quite the gash to open A1. was able to do a 1:1 exchange and my second copy is more-or-less an echo of all of the high praise from earlier commenters here. this wax is _heavy_ and flat and silent!

Guess it's just my dumb luck, but I ended up with a shitty off-center pressing, with ragged edges and noticeable wavery sound and sibilance galore, particularly on side A. 4AD's spotty modern represses are screwing up the legacy of what should be an otherwise absolutely bulletproof label. I realize that Ivo Watts-Russell is no longer overseeing things, but fer chrissakes please care more + do better, 4AD — or just don't bother.

High quality Reissue! Sound is pretty much flawless with very minimal surface noise.
Truly a great album and surprisingly great pressing for $25 brand new!

Mastering wise this release is phenomenal, loud and punchy in all the right places.

HOWEVER, my copy has some ugly pops on "Cactus" even after cleaning. Anyone else?

I had always been searching for an original, but prices were high and I finally broke down and bought this reissue. Proud to say it sounds INCREDIBLE, seriously one of the best sounding records I own. I highly doubt the original could be any improvement on this, and even the mobile fidelity version for that matter. Everything here is clear, crisp and LOUD. For 25$ this is a steal.

This album sounds amazing! Hard to describe the sound other than so pure, so clear, and feels like I'm in the studio with them.

Sounds amazing. Cut by Ryan Smith, just wish I knew if it was all analog. Mostly because I'm curious. It sounds like it.

Great sounding pressing - crunchy and very present guitars, nice deep and tight bass, great high extension. Excellent repress of my ongoing still-most-favorite Pixies LP. Smooth edges on the disc, hardly any surface noise anywhere, heavy-weight 180g, nicely reproduced artwork and inner sleeve. Really well presented.
