His sister LaToya was on the same LARC label. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not.

To those who claim that this LP was released before Thriller and that MJ stole the idea for his album cover, have a look at the Billboard charts : https://www.billboard.com/music/alfonzo/chart-history/BLP

The Alfonzo LP peaked at 50 on 12th March 1983 and it remained 8 weeks on the charts which means it entered it on january/february 83. The singles also hit the charts at the end of 82 or beginning of 83. It is then very VERY difficult to believe that this album has been released on the summer of 1982, but I am open to any convincing proof of this statement (and please don't tell me about this "Uber driver" story which proves NOTHING, since it is based on an interview of Alfonzo!). In addition to that, even if it was proved that the Alfonzo LP reached the market some weeks before Thriller, how can we give credit to the belief that MJ would have stolen the idea of the cover? The Thriller cover shooting was done several months before the album's release according to photographer Dick Zimmermann, and everything shows that Alfonzo's album didn't come out so early in 1982. The design was created by CBS staff and Zimmerman and it seems Michael has nothing to do with it (if you understand french you have the whole story here : https://michaeljackson1965.skyrock.com/3008170425-Dick-Zimmerman-est-decrit-par-les-medias-comme-un-veritable-genie.html. You also have a shorter version in english here : https://www.mjjcommunity.com/forum/threads/43347-Dick-Zimmerman-about-Thriller-Cover?s=6387caeca4c8569dfc9942ce3684a7b2). They tried tons of jackets that didn't fit MJ and ultimately Zimmermann lent his own jacket to MJ who loved it. Quincy Jones was the man who picked up the final picture among the series.

The obvious explanation would be that Alfonzo did see the Thriller photo before its release (he had some connections with important people of the music industry at the time, don't forget that) and tried to do the same on his own record. Or maybe some coincidence since this posture was common at that time but considering the way Alfonzo used to imitate Jackson I don't think so...

I don't care what anyone says, Alfonzo bit off of Michael. Many songs on the album resemble songs from Off The Wall, but Alfonzo overdid it with copying off of Michael's adlibs and "woooo's" "I Wanna Give You My Love Till You Scream" is the best song on the album and probably one of the few great ones. The singles, "Girl You're The One" and "You're Booty Makes Me Moody" were funky while the Boz Saggs remake "LowDown" was groovy. "Change The World" (his 3rd single) lacked any lyrical creativity and variety (much like some of the fillers I didn't mention), but it was well produced and sounded much like what Michael would compose during the early 80s. This album and singles released didn't do well at all though "You're Booty Makes Me Moody" was a minor R&B hit in early 1983 and several months before the album's released, it appeared in the movie, Penitentiary 2, during the club scene (though it wasn't on the soundtrack). Due to the lack of creativity, this album gets 2.5 stars. It sounded like it could've been a good album if Alfonzo didn't copy so much like Michael.
