4th album from Brooklyn, New York band who lay down dreamy threads of ethereal pop music with distant jangle chords and warmly reverberating guitar lines, led by the passionate and fragile voice of Molly Hamilton. Some of the songs here infuse the smoky atmospherics with a heavier indie/shoegaze feel that rumbles at the edge of grunge and punches up the romance with a lusty roar. Frequently recalls bands like Mazzy Star, Beach House, Tarnation. “Expect The Best” is a hypnotically soothing ride through the clouds in an idling muscle car. Recommended.
