Reviews
- I agree, this is a ‘live’ recording right?! , some complaints that there’s distortion mainly on side 2 but maybe that’s what it sounded like, I don’t want a live record to sound like a clean studio production, what’s the point in that ?
- Awful pressing. Lots of distortion, clicks and pops. Side B has mastering errors. I returned it, and will rather purchase the newer 3LP remaster when it is available. Yes, the records were cleaned.
- When I first heard this release I thought something was broken. The recording? The record? My gear? When I listened more closely, it became clear to me that I was listening to a live concert where I wasn't sitting in the front row, but at the end of the hall. So I hear what the PA is blasting into the hall plus the echo of the hall. If you get involved in this listening situation and if you remember your own similar concert experiences, this record becomes an acoustic treat. The comparison with a bootleg comes to mind. But a bootleg with a very good recording.
- I can confirm I experience the side 2 distorsion as well :-( Pretty sad, since the others PF re-releases of this serie sound well, as far as I know.
- Mine sounds absolutely flawless. I couldn't find any distortion that shouldn't be there, either. As to this release sounding compressed, get out of here. This one of the most dynamic vinyl pressings ever.

DR13 0.00 dB -16.76 dB 6:58 14-Run Like Hell - Just got this and checked for the distortion on Sorrow, couldn't hear it using an Ortofon OM40 pickup. Since that big low guitar sound, especially in the outro, is very powerful I thought this might be something that might be quite a task for some pickups. I had a OM5e stylus around and tried with that and I am hearing some minor distortions with that. So maybe that pressing of that track is reaching the limits of the tracking ability of some simpler pickups/styluses...
- Some albums stand the test of time. This is one of those granite monuments to music. A relic that seems even more relevant now than when it was produced. This double LP reissue remastered from the original analogue tapes is all around excellent. Freedom rock at its best. This live show is up to par with 'Pulse.' Both deserve a place in a Pink Floyd connoisseur's collection.
- Edited 4 years agoWell, looks like I’m sticking to my NM original pressing! They should fix this somehow and reissue the record. Too bad! At least the rest of the reissue run was pretty damn solid.
- Some people complain about (slight) distortion on side 2 of LP1. My copy sounds realy great, also on that side (without distortion). It sounds a lot better then my old LP from 1988.
