Reviews
- A great edition of this album, not my favorite, but undoubtedly of a lot of artistic and of course sound quality. Sometimes I have been able to perceive some vocal distortion at higher frequencies, but I am afraid it comes from the master's degree. Of course, incomparable with any cheap edition.
- My copy is great. No quite MFSL pressing quality, but really, really good. A pop/click here or there, especially on side 4, but mostly the background is just shy of dead quiet. No noise at the very end of album sides as often seen lately on cheaper pressings. Both of records are perfectly flat. Nice, high quality inner sleeves. I review pressing quality, not mastering, so I will defer to others on that. I highly recommend this.
- Everything the 33rpm does well is retained here but with a notable soundstage widening and deepening and a little extra crankability. It is worth paying the little extra to have this definitive release now ive experienced its sheer awesomeness but the 33rpm would do me more than fine if this didnt exist!
Both editions have some warping which stops ahort of affecting playback, the 33 being the worse off of the two. These QRP/RTI premiums are rarely better than far cheaper Record Industry/Pallas efforts but the superb mastering is the main reason to dip into these Lynyrds that AP have issued and this one sounds pretty darn fine n dandy indeed!
