Notes
Factory Floor & DFA have collected 5 tracks that were unreleased for streaming or have remained vinyl-only until now. This EP comes after the year-long campaign for their second LP ‘2525’, which climaxed in May 2017 with an hour long epic performance at Movement Festival Detroit.
‘2525+5’ starts with 2 tracks taken from the Dial Me In 12”, which preceded the ‘2525’ LP. Both tracks ‘Dial Me In (Club Mix)’ and ‘Work It Out’ have remained vinyl only. A beautiful long form / slow motion 4/4 remix comes from Klara Lewis, while both Charles Manier (aka Tadd Mullinix aka Dabrye) & Jlin represent Detroit by keeping it weird and wonderful with each of their distinct approaches to more leftfield, industrial music.
Together, the 5 tracks fit together in a way that creates fantastic forward momentum all the way to the end, from the Club Mix of ‘Dial Me In’ to the Jlin Remix of ‘Wave’, this EP is ultimately a celebratory collaboration of UK & Detroit electronic music, which has a long history together already. ‘2525+5’ is Factory Floor’s addendum to the ongoing story of this relationship.
