- 4AM Original : What are the vocals sampled from at the beginning before the Beverly Craven sample ? I still can't work out what is being said !!! Can anyone help or clear this up ?
- 4AM is obviously the anthem right here. But I´d like to big up 'Pure Bliss', uplifting hardcore like only Decoder knew how to do! Had to get the 4-tracker for this tune alone, as it´s always been overshadowed that makes it the perfect secret weapon.
- are all copies of this pressed off centre on the a side? just got a copy and when you play it the arm moves from side to side. just wondering if this is the case with all of them.
- "You look like you’re in another world, but I can read your mind, It’s four o’clock in the morning and it’s starting to get light"
Who would have thought that two vocal samples from a Beverly Craven ballad could result in such a euphoric hardcore anthem?
If you tuned into the London pirates in 1993, pretty much every other DJ would drop this tune despite the increasing dominance of darkside tracks in the scene.
It's such a simple track that it barely warrants analysis, but all the tried and tested hardcore breakbeat elements fit together perfectly. As a bonus, the other tracks on the EP are also very good. - 4 AM is probably the best known tune on Lucky Spin. It samples Beverly Craven's "Promise Me" and puts it over a rough break and some sounds from Edge 1. There's also a nice piano. Pretty simple but effective.
