    Album Revolution #5:

It was very clear that after the genius of "3+3", "The Isley Brothers" had to come with it, and they did not disappoint with "Live It Up"!!! A powerhouse of an album, using the same elements from "3+3", but taking things a little further...

.I notice that "The Isley's" thrive on gaining momentum, knowing just what to give the audience at the right time....

Feel the burn of the 1st Crown Jewel "Title Track", with once again, "Ernie Isley" doing what he does best in Guitar SHREDDING!!!! You also have "Marvin" going through some SERIOUS Bass Progressions on the track ...

"Brown Eyed Girl" (2nd Crown Jewel), has all the elements of a "Classic Isley Slow Jam"..."Chris Jasper's" infectious Piano, String Guitar by "Ernie", and "Ronald", "Rudolph" and "O'Kelly KILLING it on Vocals....

"Need A Little Taste Of Love" (Yeah, I'll go ahead and call it the 3rd Crown Jewel), is a BUMPIN' "Rock 'N Soul" joint that will make your head bob HARD!!!

"Lover's Eve" (obviously a "Chris Jasper" dream) is a Arp Synthesizer workout, surrounding "Ronald's vocals so very nicely...I really feel that "Chris" loved "Ronald's" Voice and he really wanted "Ron" to have the BEST performances he could have....

"Midnight Sky (Part 1 & 2)", the 4th Crown Jewel, starts side 2 on a true trip...Yes it has "Ernie" doing his THING!!!!

I do love the original "Hello It's Me" (Written and Performed by "Todd Rundgren"), but I have to say that because "Ronald" loved the song so much, "Chris" helped him to make it an "Isley Brother Classic" (and the 5th Crown Jewel)....

The cut that really takes things to another level, is the perfect closer, and Ultimate Ultimate Ultimate Crown Jewel, "Ain't I Been Good To You (Part 1 & 2)"..... It starts off BLAZIN', then cools down to a Slow Funky and Blusey Crawl....Ernie just made this one look just way too EASY, even going along with "Ronald" with his "BABY!!!" Chants!!!!....

I know I kept calling Crown Jewels, and I just realized while writing this that this is just one Big Ultimate Crown Jewel...It came out in 1974, and it sounds like it never got old.....

My version has Side Two songs on both sides of the album...Midnight sky; Hello it's me; Ain't I been good to you. Can't believe I just discovered this although I have had the album since the late 70's.
