This is the album that made me fall in love with DBT. I saw Never Gonna Change played on Connan and was hooked. I honestly don't think there is a bad song on this album. It starts of hitting you across the head wit the great slide guitar riff of Where the Devil Don't Stay, then softens and diversifies to deliver a variety of southern tales, only to kick it right back up to 11 with Never Gonna Change and Lookout Mountain at the end. They re-recorded Lookout Mountain for this album and it was a great choice as the song grew and improved from a good song to a outstanding song over the years of the bands existence. Then the last song hits you in the gut with a slow, soft and beautiful tune sung by Jason Isbell, Goddamn Lonely Love serves as a powerful and fitting cap to a great listening experience.
