Various – FAX Compilation

I love a lot of FAX material, but quite often there'll be an album where I like a track or two and find the rest ok but fairly inessential. Given the fast turnover for so much of the label's material, this isn't surprising - I'm an exceptionally picky listener, so the more jam-like nature of many FAX releases isn't quite aimed at me. That's where this compilation comes in - it manages to feature a large number of my favourite tracks from underwhelming albums - the most obvious is the Putney track here, which is utterly stunning, but nothing else on that album remotely appeals. There are plenty of others here, and that makes this a really valuable release for me. Especially with many of these albums not easily available digitally or at all on streaming, meaning making playlists isn't always the best option, it's great to just pop this on and enjoy such a well curated set of brilliant tracks.

If you like the idea of owning the first ambient cookbook cd but dont fancy paying the crazy prices being asked regularly here and on ebay then you could always buy this compilation and the second one also on instinct label and hey presto you have the ambient cookbook in all but name and for a fraction of the price.
Cant fault either this or the second comp which are simply superb.I got the second cookbook on mp3 cd which is also way cheaper than the originals.Get these two compilations now !
