- Maybe it's too obvious to mention, but Clivilles and Cole opted to lift the bassline and melody (with minor alterations) from Gwen Guthrie's "Ain't Nothing Going On But The Rent". It works pretty well and is a lot better than the totally unremarkable LP version. I love those phased drum rolls.
- Edited 7 years agoHuge tune with its instantly recognizable bassline when it drops - sending the dance floor into a frenzy, the track builds with its percussion, drum loops and rolls, then comes the vocal, strings and the synth lifting the track even further. You can take your pick on the mixes with the more commercial sounding vocal mixes, or the dub mixes with their more minimal feel, all are strong with the dub mixes. Track had big commercial success too.
- I've always wondered about this record as i own both copy's the promo and the more commercially available version why the commercial copy goes for more than the promo copy as when you look back on the classic old skool house records the white label or promo is much rarer and dearer in price than the more commercially available copy is this so because they made more copy's of the commercial copy than they did of the promo so lesser copy's of the promo got sent out before the actually release.
