- I want to love it so bad. I got it because the translucent blue is a beautiful upgrade to the plain black, but as others have mentioned the surface noise is BAD. I thought I got lucky after making it through side A without anything noticeable, but side B has static through the first three songs that fades out by the end of the album, and a few loud pops throughout. I’ll try to clean it a few more times and see what happens, as it was pretty difficult to get out of the sleeve.
- Edited 3 months agoFirst time listening to this record and had to come here to check if my ears needed cleaning out. Have to agree with most that this is a pretty dull pressing. I can’t believe how disappointing this is when you start collecting vinyl, maybe we are spoilt by the crispness of Spotify.
Edited one year agoMost people hated the change when Donald dove into this genre then it grew on everyone I loved it as soon as me and your mama came out as a single
dang these reviews really ripped this pressing apart. so when buying i really expected this to sound like ass. but maybe i'm lucky because i think it sounds great! record came slightly warped but it doesn't effect the sound much. on side A it is pretty quiet compared to side B which sounds a lot louder. Some popping and clicking on some parts of the record, mostly on side A. worst sounding tracks are redbone and me and your mama. pretty noticeable static noise throughout those tracks. other than that very happy with this purchase!!
Terrible drum sounds on a few songs. Height speakers exploit it. Some sibilance throughly but not terrible.- Unlike a lot of these other reviews my copy was quite nice, minimum surface noise, no crackles, overall a great purchase. Picked it up from walmart and was super glad to find it was so good.
- A LOT of surface noise on first couple tracks. And is extremely quiet being played on a AT-LP120 (have heard others complain about the volume too)
Un superbe album qui mérite toute son attention. Mais le pressage n’est pas à la hauteur du projet, c’est un peu dommage.
Not a great pressing, but I think it’s better than many people say. I bought a used copy that has smudges and streaks all over it and it really doesn’t sounds that bad.
