Edited one month agoMost people hated the change when Donald dove into this genre then it grew on everyone I loved it as soon as me and your mama came out as a single
dang these reviews really ripped this pressing apart. so when buying i really expected this to sound like ass. but maybe i'm lucky because i think it sounds great! record came slightly warped but it doesn't effect the sound much. on side A it is pretty quiet compared to side B which sounds a lot louder. Some popping and clicking on some parts of the record, mostly on side A. worst sounding tracks are redbone and me and your mama. pretty noticeable static noise throughout those tracks. other than that very happy with this purchase!!
Terrible drum sounds on a few songs. Height speakers exploit it. Some sibilance throughly but not terrible.- Unlike a lot of these other reviews my copy was quite nice, minimum surface noise, no crackles, overall a great purchase. Picked it up from walmart and was super glad to find it was so good.
- A LOT of surface noise on first couple tracks. And is extremely quiet being played on a AT-LP120 (have heard others complain about the volume too)
- Un superbe album qui mérite toute son attention. Mais le pressage n’est pas à la hauteur du projet, c’est un peu dommage.
Edited 2 years agoI was hesitant to buy this because of the negative reviews, but it was only 20 bucks at the record shop, and it's really not that bad. No complaints so far.
I also bought the box set version (40 bucks on Amazon), because I want to compare a single lightweight LP at 33rpm with a 2xLP 180g 45rpm.
Not a great pressing, but I think it’s better than many people say. I bought a used copy that has smudges and streaks all over it and it really doesn’t sounds that bad.
Great album but a pretty dull pressing to be honest- I can confirm some of the other reviews; My copy sounds great and doesn't have any surface noise, but is EXTREMELY quiet, by far the quietest record I think I've heard
