- I don't know anyone who got the cassette with the purchase of "Puppets" from an indie store and I'm guessing that 90% or better of the purchasers never knew this cassette was supposed to come with. I bet most record stores hoarded them and sold them separately. That's easy money! I didn't find out about this cassette until a couple of years after the "Puppets" box was released. I purchased the cassette separately because to me, it's a must have as part of that collection and the fact that it's considered a "promo" and not an official or proper release. Just this promo cassette, which is pretty awesome!
- I got a cassette but never got a poster. They should release this on an official cd and i think they should release Cliff's Last Show on an official cd. I have had the bootleg 2LP since the early 90's and this tape looks cool. The only thing that sucks about the cassette inside the box set is that they cut Kirk's guitar solo...the original guitar solo jam includes Kirk jamming The Munsters Theme Song. For some reason they cut the solo down to a couple seconds on the cassette but the whole solo is about 5 minutes long. Its on "The Final Gig" 2LP bootleg album.
- ....as a follow up to my previous post, I am baffled as to why this wasn’t included on cd in the box. They are smokin’ and this sounds so good. Just heard some of the best live versions of sanitarium and ride I’ve heard (and I’ve heard a lot!). Go get it!
- Listening to this right now and I can confirm it’s an excellent recording on par with the other shows that were released on cd in the MOP deluxe box set. This is a must have. I guess they just ran out of room in the box set and decided to make this a promo to help out the indie record stores.
