Reviews
Show All 24 Reviews- I have this and I never listen to it. My CD from the early 90s sounds way better. I think this album was recorded digitally anyways and I cant notice any tangible benefit to having the vinyl other than it looks really cool. Unless some boutique label picks this up and gives it the treatment it deserves, just stick with the CD.
- The blurry covers is a issue of scanning. It is the same with all reissued Iron Maiden vinyls as well. Many of the covers artwork are lost, so they scan old covers, and they don't care if it turns out blurry. It is all about quick $.
- Heavy metal at it's peak. This pressing was amazing. The audio isn't quiet, the art work is a tad blurry, but everything else is great!
- The art is a bit blurry. The music itself is top notch. No clipping. Dynamics are cared well. I had this crank up all the way and thought my house grew legs.
- Edited 2 days agoA regular edition with a great sound for a nice price. In my opinion, the sound of this vinyl reissue is better than many CD reissues. The sound is rich, clear, natural, excellent detail, no compression (DR11).
The labels's decision to put the vinyl in a printing sleeve turned out to be not very successful - the record broke through the ends. I bought a sealed record in marketplace. Imagine my surprise when I found a sufficiently torn inner envelope. It has been said a million times that a printable inner sleeve for vinyl is not practical, for which a special antistatic sleeve was invented. I propose to inform the labels Columbia, Legacy and Sony Music that the 21st century has already arrived and that a normal antistatic envelope costs less than chicken feed =) Aside from my personal failure based on the label's desire to save 10 cents, everything is fine here. Probably in the future I will try my luck again and try to buy another sealed copy. - Edited 2 years agoSounds great to me. 1st spin it sounded good but perhaps just a mite compressed. But 2nd spin on my other TT with headphones sounded really really good. I was rocking the F out! Little if any surface noise. Mine was a tiny bit warped, mainly on side B. But it's flatter than most new presses. Given the very reasonable price tag, if you're a fan of this magnificent beast of an album (as any self-respecting metalhead should be) & want it on vinyl - buy with confidence.
- Ok I have to wonder if I have a defective copy. Mine sounds awful. Seriously, one of the worst sounding records I’ve ever bought. And the volume is literally half the volume of a normal record... has this happened to anyone else. The volume (or lack there of) is significant and I would think would be noticeable to everyone... I can’t be the only person this has ever happened to with this pressing. Anyone else?
I’m shocked to read these positive reviews. I almost want to buy another copy to see but with how awful this one sounds I’m not sure I want to risk it. - This LP sounds great to my ears. My only complaint is the jacket, the art is a little blurry and not as clear and vibrant as the original. It could have benefited from being glossy instead of uncoated/matte.
