Reviews
Show All 13 Reviews- Giles Martin brought another life to this incredible album. This album changed rock and roll forever!
- There is absolutely no way they reissued the mono version. This would've been common knowledge and the price of the mono cut would be far lower
- Edited one year agoThe text on the record cover spline reads right to left, while most record texts read left to right. I ended up flipping the record upside-down while storing it, so it reads proper.
- I'm really happy with it. I don't notice any pops or clicks and every instrument is clear and blended well.
- Edited one year agoHave to disagree with some of the reviews here. Like all brand new records it will benefit from a spin clean/ultrasonic bath, but once that was done we heard no clicks, pops or any other surface noise. Excellent pressing and the new mix sounds fantastic. Bass frequencies are more focused, Ringo's drums sound big without getting in the way, the vocals are glassy and clear. The new mix is sympathetic to the feel of the original, but the extra dimensions make it sound so punchy it was like watching them live.
- I am very disappointed by this mix!
I compared this edition with the original PCS 7027 and the German Odeon SHZE 401 from 1967.
This version sounds much deeper and bass heavier than the old ones.
The highs are strongly reduced. The record is also quieter than the old ones.
The old editions have a driving, forward pushing sound. This edition is perfect in sound but loses the character of the old pressings.
During the whole time I had the feeling as if the record is played a little bit too slowly.
