This has to be one of the best debut albums ever made.
I have owned this album for the day it was released. I was at Manchester Uni in the late 70s/80's. I attended JD's lat gig and NO's 1st gig.Imho, Unknown Pleasures is a perfect album. Even though Ian struggled with suicidal thoughts, he was a genius with his lyrics. The Bands dark and moody atmospheric added to their vibe. Oh my, how it has endured over the years.
I'd be really grateful if someone could help identify my copy. It most closely resembles the first pressing. Textured sleeve, rounded corners on inner sleeve, solid black vinyl, FACT 10. The runouts are a bit different though.

I have a copy of variant 8 which is a little translucent yellow when hold under smartphone light.
If anybody wants to sell an inner sleeve for this please let me know- This is THE only version to hear this album. It’s a totally different beast. ‘Porky Peckham’, none other will suffice.
- All digital remasters, vinyl, CD's or files have compressed the soul out of this masterpiece. Look for George 'Porky' Peckham analogue masters. It says 'Porky Prime Cuts', nothing else will do!
Easily in top 10 best sounding vinyl pressings in my collection.
Killer bass, gives you goosebumps. No wonder why this album is so iconic, perfectly recorded.
Truly hypnotizing experience, highly recommended to buy !
