- Still the best MF Dark Star on tape. If you like this and the sound, please, Lord please, get the complete Fillmore recordings of Feb.27 / 28 Mar 1 / 2. The sound and playing if off the charts. The run has repeats of course, but that's a good thing, a great thing.
- Anyone aware of a version other than the 2011 MoFi release where the sides are not auto-coupled (sides A & D on Disc 1, sides B & C on Disc 2)?
- Anyone know of a version that is NOT autocoupled (meaning side A is paired with side D, and B with C)?
- Edited 3 years agoThis album surpasses anything they did in the studio. "Dark Star" is a psychedelic masterpiece where the interplay between the band is astounding, it's like it's raining colourful acidic notes. Jerry Garcia's guitar work is amazing. Their fun rendition of Bobby Blue Bland's "Turn On Your Love Light", it's one of my favourite pieces of boogie music of all time. This album is a classic.
