Great sounding copy, aside form the occasional pops here and there but it's not nearly enough to distract. Disc 3, the Pearl one, is a bit quieter from the other three from what I've heard. There was also a small blemish on my side B but after quick brush it didn't affect play at all. My experience is reflective of the 2023 repress of this album.
Got my copy from the recent repress, and the discs are translucent! The sound quality is good (not amazing but not horrible, it sounds like how you’d expect a novelty vinyl release to sound) and the discs are pretty quiet minus some clicks every now and then that will likely go away after more plays. Sadly, one of my inner sleeves and the label for side H have small tears but it’s not a big enough problem for me to want to return it. Super happy to finally have this, and would recommend you get it for retail price while you still can!
I received one of these secondhand, but I don't know when it was manufactured. Discs 1 and 2 on my copy are translucent, while discs 3 and 4 are opaque. Nonetheless they all look stunning, and the sound quality is excellent across all of them. The sound is very open and clear, if a little light on bass. If you're a fan of this show's spectacular music then pick this one up.

Just found one of the opaque copies and the colors are stunning and I compared it to my translucent copy that I got during a restock. And I’ve noticed at the end of the side runouts on the opaque ones there’s a “RE 1” on every side on every disc. Perhaps the opaque scopes were the first pressing of this set? Was this on purpose?
Edited 3 years agoIncredibly disappointing pressing. There's absolutely no bass to speak of, the songs are oddly spilt up between sides (why aren't all of the Mr. Greg songs on the same side?) and the packaging feels very flimsy. Plus the need to make 4 10" records for each Gem, while cute, certainly raised the price of this up when it could've just been 2 12" LPs. (Star rating would be 2.5 if there were halves)
Why are some copies have translucent LPs and others opaque? I have a copy with all the LPs in solid colors. That didn't affect my enjoyment of this soundtrack, but it has me curious.- This release sounds and looks pretty good! Really clean and soft sound. I would like a little bit more bass thou. But it's good as it is.
