Notes

12" Insert with Lyrics

Recorded in Los Angeles, CA at Sound City & Ocean Way Recording.
Mixed at Andora Studios. Mastered at Precision Mastering.

Runouts: RB Precision etchings on all 4 sides
DMM is in the end of each matrix number.

Noticeable differences between this original 1994 pressing and the 2009 reissue (USA):
1. Credit to Warner Bros. Records Inc. at the bottom of each label have a significant gap between the last sentence "Wild Gator Music ASCAP" and the bottom line "℗1994 Warner Bros. Records Inc".

2. The 2009 reissue has a new number for each track unlike the original. The 1994 original has each side of the record starting with track 1, there is not a continuation on to each side. Therefore on side 4 "House in the woods" would be track 1 on side 4 NOT track 13 on side 4.

So I finally compared this original pressing to the newer reissued box set and I have to say the difference is startling. This original sounds QUITE a bit better. It’s definitely not as harsh in the high end which is something I notice immediately on the newer version. This pressing also sounds quite a bit punchier overall. It’s considerably easier to listen to.

Does anyone else tend to prefer this '94 presentation to the new '20 version?

3 different versions being released October 2020! A 9 lp Indie store only version is one of them.

Seems there is movement on the reissue. They just released a Demo-Version of "You don't know how it feels". In the Newsletter it is said that this comes from a "Wildflowers-Project" that Warner is working on.

This is a rare example where the reissue from the recent box set sounds better than the original release. This is straight from a digital source versus the reissue pressing coming from the original master tapes. Don't buy this from a greedy scalper. And yes I have listened to both.
I would recommend buying the box set 1994 - 2014 and get seven superbly pressed LPs versus buying an original Wildflowers for $400+.

Whoever is running his estate, PLEASE re-issue this on vinyl.

Just got a NM still in shrink at a garage sale. Never heard it before today. Love this album. Was never a Petty fan until I listened to this on vinyl. I would be more than happy to sell mine for $400!
