Reviews
Show All 15 Reviews- Just adding my two cents .... Bought brand new November 8th, 2022. Came out of the sleeve absolutely filthy dirty. There was actually something stuck to it. However, after a pretty good cleaning, the record played surprisingly well. As others have noted, the music does sound a bit flat, but, overall, I have no regrets. Worth the price of admission (MSRP).
- Our copy, in black vinyl, doesn’t have any pops or surface noise, but it does sound kinda flat & murky. Beautiful music but poorly presented.
- I think this is the murkiest mastering job I have ever heard. Completely unlistenable. Also, the pressing is poor with tons of noise. It's the auditory equivalent of buying distressed jeans.
- After wet dry vacuum cleaning, a bit of noise on lead in; occasional pops; adequate but rather murky pressing (which may or may not suit the work just fine, depending on your point of view). It's not outstanding and could be a lot better. Packaging pretty cheap, bare bones stuff. Not worth the (higher than it should be) retail price.
- They may have fixed the surface noise issues that plagued this reissue originally, but they haven't fixed the warping. Got one today and it's edge and dish warped severely. Sending back
- Edited 2 years agoJust got a copy of this after being on the fence for a couple years. Anti has fixed all the pressing issues I believe as no pops, clicks or surface noise.
The mix sounds like a Haunted Dirty Bar and I have never heard another so maybe it was meant to be that way cause it does give it feeling.
If your are looking for a pristine mix I don't think it was meant for this album - Just got this black vinyl reissue. My copy sounds perfect. Only a slight pop between ol55 and I hope I don’t fall in love with you which I’m pretty sure was caused by the liner insert and can be cleaned. What a great album.
- Anti Records Facebook Page have announced they are offering replacement copies of the black and colored pressings!
