Reviews
- Edited 5 years agoAiry and bouncy, "Cake", "Heisman", "Ice on my Leash" and "12" have the most infectuous hooks, while "Ricardo" and "Bali" truly takes listeners to space. The members of 88Glam share a UGK-like relationship where one member has the gruffer voice, while the other shares the lighter tone and for the most part it does work cohesively, though the issue with the auto-tune (as with Rae Sremm) is that the one with the lighter tone tends to sound more appealing than the gruffer-sounding member. The bass booms, the keys hit, and the flexing is non-stop. "88 Glam" is an epononymous trap record, slightly autobiographical in taste as the group brags about unlocking the cheat codes in life at a young age. I was honestly hyped to hear that Box Chevy's get love in Canada - so yeah, this LP is educational as well.
