Notes

CD1 notes:
"All trax conceived, written and produced by Etnica - Recorded at Soundbusters Recording Studios (Milan). Thanks to all the people from the South American Eclipse: Dj Baba, D. Booz and Margot, Dj Flaps, Dj Klaus G., Mike Logan, Dj Pantelis, Unique Group Indonesia, Victoria Hare and all the techno freaks from Jungleworld."

CD2 notes:
"DAT Records would like to thank the whole scene for the support and love shown throughout these 10 years of existence. Furthermore DAT wouldn't be able to operate this well if it weren't for some key figures such as Mark Solitare, Pavlos Kwulf, Vas Cosmogenesis, Kyriakos Sunborn, Kunal Tree Tribe, and all the people of the Unreleased Goa Project. Love and light to each and all of you who support our hard work. Big love to Irlene Santos."

CD3 notes:
"The above tracks are the very first productions of the Etnica Group, which at the very beginning was called "Tribe" because of the parties so named in which Max was involved - organizing and djing - in Milan and all over the world. The master DAT Tapes have the following months and years indicated: 1,2,3 produced in Feb '94 - 4,5 produced in May '94 - 6,7,8,10,11 produced in Aug '94 - 9 produced in Jul '93."

Etnica Thanks:
"Etnica would like to thank Federico and Mark at DAT Records for making this release a reality."

Track 2-5 is incorrectly listed as "Etnica - Party Druid (Sonic Shaman)" but it's the track "Evolution - Alien Phenomenon", an error produced due to a mislabelled DAT tape.

The previously released version of "Chemical Trance" on The Italian EP was labelled as "Instant Remix" on master DAT tapes of the band, the version released on CD2 is the "Original Mix", the first version of the track that has never been released before.

Released in an 8-panel Digipak with a 16-page booklet.

I bought The Juggeling Alchemists Under The Black Light in 1995. I never tired of listening to it. Recently I discovered the reissue of this album with the many bonus tracks.
The title "Big Dust In Fort Chapora (Piano Remix)" stuck me. I quickly recognized "The Gili's Voyage". And I told myself my god what a job to arrive
at "The Gili's Voyage", what a genius! It's surrealistic ! Same thing for "Evolis" to "Moon Influence".

This is the perfect re-release with a lot of bonus, information. Even if you have the original one, believe me, you want to get this one.
      My rating: 5/5

If anyone's listening this compared to the High Society press, do the bass drum and the background effects sound like they're taking up a lot of energy in the mix, maybe robbing the high hats and melodies of some energy that would otherwise make the album more listenable to you on the original album disc? I don't have a copy of the original in my possession anymore / yet to compare them, but to me the balance of the mix sounds a little off for the style that it's in compared to what I remember... But man, they pulled every bit of sound out of that bass drum. The extras alone are worth it when it comes to this release imo, even if we get a non-etnica bonus song. And if you're not already familiar with the music itself, you're in for a treat with Juggling Alchemists.

Thanks to Dat Records for taking the time and energy to put together this amazing collection of Etnica tracks. I had not yet listened to the 1995 release, so when I heard that Dat was putting this out, I immediately bought 5 copies of this direct from Dat records. I cannot think of a better gift to give someone who missed the peak of Classic Goa Trance or somehow missed this re-release. Amazing music that few have ever surpassed in the genre of Classic Goa Trance.

In regards to the last review: Evolution does have a song that has some Etnica Influences in it. The song is "Riding High" [350 Bullet mix] and at 3:40 the song goes into full Etnica mode. Enjoy. I did. In fact I just bought the 'Warriors of light 12' Vinyl that has this song on it. I love serendipity. Truly, there are no mistakes in life...........only blessings waiting to be unveiled.

Track 2-5 is an unfortunate blemish on this release. It's pretty sad that neither anyone from DAT Records nor Etnica themselves could tell that this track wasn't produced by Etnica. Yes, DAT tapes can be mislabeled - which is why you ought to verify their labeling and not take it for granted. Listeners immediately picked up on this mistake as the track doesn't sound at all like Etnica and it was quickly identified as a popular track released by Evolution. It's also sad that, after dropping the ball on quality assurance, DAT Records won't be correcting this embarassing mistake by reissuing the release with another actual Etnica track.
