Reviews
- Yeah I'm gonna chime in on it too. My copy sounds very nice. All good there. This is one of my favorite morbid angel records too. I love the guitar work. I always found it odd so many put it down but the production is really strange. Makes it even more valuable to me though. I swear there is no bass track on the album. I just want to hear trey do what he does best. And he does some of his best on this record. It would have been cool as a double lp or to have all those second cd soloes and instrumentals on a 10 inch or something. My cd copy had two disks. I'm sure others know what I'm talking about.
- Edited 4 years agobest album of morbid angel in my opinion sorry for the haters but first 6 tracks are killers
- A lot of Metal fans give this album a lot of negativity but for me as a guitar player and a music lover and a big fan of almost all of Morbid Angel’s material (not including Illud Divinum) I personally really appreciate this album. I think the Lyrical content and guitar work is some of the most imaginative and incredibly creative material that Trey has ever come up with and his amazingly high energy is definitely felt all over this record and it’s contagious. Pete’s drumming much like on Formulas is off the chains here and he unleashes with speed and dexterity that is of the highest order and Steve’s vocals and bass are very solid keeping a foundation while the other 2 members are consistently tearing it up. The production I also enjoy and think it fits the sound perfectly that Trey was going for with tornado like riffs and hurricane drumming. This vinyl reissue is very good and let’s you enjoy the full aural experience that is “Heretic.”
- sounds just like the cd. I would've preferred the songs laid out with the filler tracks not all clumped together on the second side but oh well, i still quite enjoy this MA album it definitely isn't Illiud. LOL!! >.<
