If the metal parts are sourced from Allied shouldn’t Allied be the top listing? I always see SRC pressings at the top and Allied down in the middle somewhere. Is it an East coast vs West coast thing?

A great, great pressing and tremendous value! The dynamics are excellent and RL did a masterful job with his mastering. This should be in everyone's collection.

This album is without a doubt the single best sounding LP that I own. Robert Ludwig's mastering job is simply perfection and I have not heard another LP match it's quality.

My copy sounds fabulous though I can't find or match its Matrix / Runout. But I do think it belongs to the variations of the first U.S. Pressings. The way everything was printed does match to Donald Fagen - The Nightfly - r1178973 except for the Matrix / Runout. My copy Barcode (Text): 0 7599-23696-1 has these etched

My copy has green "Donald Fagen" & blue "The Nightfly" There is no information anywhere about why some copies have this cover variation. (also Masterdisk RL in the dead wax) My belief is that it is a very early & good pressing. That said, 1982 brought Fagen's Nightly and Steely Dan fans around the globe rejoiced! How could he be sooooo good? I heard IGY on the radio in college and couldn't move....it was amazing. Maxine is the masterpiece and New Frontier had a video on MTV that was incredible!!! That same week we got Joe Jackson's Night and Day. The 80's started to look up. N
