Reviews
- Innersphere’s only album, _Outer Works_, is a good if ultimately unremarkable slice of mid-90s acid techno. “Let’s Go To Work” is solid and appealing, while “Mine Drift” starts off with an archaic-sounding melody before plunging into the deep end. “Tuberculosis 303” comes on like a train, and “Necronomicon” is somewhat dark, but doesn’t quite conjure up Lovecraftian beings. Luckily the calmer and dreamier tones of “3750 Miles” work much better at evoking atmosphere; indeed the track sounds like it could have come off the Kanzleramt label. But, overall, the album would most likely grow dusty from disuse if it weren’t for the remarkable opening track, “Out of Body.” That’s the track that sears into your consciousness.
