I've always thought of Release Yourself, Get Loose and Confusion as a type of trilogy. And for me at least, Release Yourself standing at the top of the mountain. An Electro Funk cut which seemlessly doesn't sound out of place in any type of '80s DJ set. Whether that'd be Electro, Funk, Street Soul, early House, Garage House, proto House, Breakdancing jam or Boogie style tunes.

What can I say about a record that, together with a handful of 12inches (like "Planet Rock", Hip Hop, Be Bop" and "Al-Naafiysh"), introduced me to the music I still love the most after about 35 years: electrofunk! Timeless... <3

This record actually help inspired a genre of music(Freestyle) in the mid 80s. Indeed one of the most important dance song of its time. People used to go crazy when djs played this track in the 80s. Club dancer used to "freestyle" to this song. A true classic.
