Reviews
- Digipak, no liner notes, minimal art (Billy, Maynard, and the band), beautiful CD with the octopus imprint. Powerful front and rear album art featuring maynard or billy consuming a blue-and-red octopus. The music itself tries to pick itself up after a hiatus that has lasted too long. It pales in comparison to MdN and 13th, but holds its own against eMo. The themes and mood are very APC (blind faith, sheep mentality, decisions, traitors, and finality), but the songs' impact are considerably lower in power, but make up for it in overall mastery in composition and arrangement. Probably the most un-APC-sounding track here is "So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish," that has that undoubtable easy-to-consume, upbeat, pop-rock vibe. However, it might open new doors for A Perfect Circle to reach new listeners and attract them to their early music.
