Notes
As a matter of fact, the album has the title that clearly speaks about its content. It consists of two CDs, which contain the collection of the most successful fragments of recordings made during jazz concerts organized in Ukraine by the Polish Institute in 1999-2002. Most of these concerts took place in Kiev. Most of the jazzmen presented here are well known not only in Poland, but also all over the world – at least, they are known in the world of jazz. That’s why, on the one hand, old admirers of jazz (especially of Polish one) have a good chance to hear a well-composed collection, in which their favourite performers are presented. On the other hand, this is an excellent opportunity for those who are discovering jazz for themselves. After all, without any effort they can become acquainted widely enough, though a bit superficially, with such phenomenon as Polish jazz. And Polish jazz is the thing, which deserves devoting time to.
