"Crackpot painter from Holland, known for his polygamous lifestyle. His local notoriety earned him a one time chance to record his "philosophy" and he does so fervently with his harmonium backed mantra murmuring. Not a serious attempt at making music" - according to some rateyourmusic user. Although true, this should not be treated as 'a serious attempt at making music', more as a poetic expression by one (very unique and interesting) human being whose artistic output is some of my favourite of all time. It's minimalist characteristics and lyrical uncertainty (improvisation?) lend it the sort of charm and poignancy that is few and far between, even in supposed 'underground' music. Total masterpiece in my opinion.
