Like someone mentioned below, "Black Focus" is a more solid experience, although some of the tracks here are just beyond words. First time I heard music from this genius was in July 2018, peaking on strong, pure acid to a 4-hour Mixmaster Morris-set at Ozora. I still have very vivid memories of going nuts to the second part of "Salaam”. My close friend, with whom I shared the trip with, came up to me, and all I could express verbally was the mantra "so much beauty, so much beauty, so much beauty".....

Unreal how bad the pressing is, mine has scratches and hairlines of through the album. Pop and cracks all along. Big disappointment.

Not as good as Black Focus but track 8 (Medina) is sooooo good.

Through this record you'll remind the Black Focus sound, but it's definitely not the masterpiece Kamaal previously did with Yussef Dayes. Don't blame the new drummer but the compositions simply don't reach the same level. Two or three good banging tunes for sure, but unfortunately the rest is just vibbin... This deserves 3 stars or so, not more.

I received a black vinyl edition from Amazon, and it sounds incredible. This is one hell of a modern jazz album! Highly recommended.
