- Edited one year agoI’m listening to this now and I can’t see what people are saying about this being a bad pressing. At all.
The original recording was done cheaply, so the quality is not up there with what one would expect from Stevie Wonder, but the record is a true document of what (I believe) the original tapes would sound like. It’s exciting and fresh, and a historic document of grass roots music of a too little known artist. We’re lucky that we have labels like Backatcha putting this stuff out. - Edited 6 years agoFirst, I bought this record from a Ukranian seller, that shipped out the record faster than most people I've dealt with locally in the US. Very impressed and massive thanks to that seller. For the record itself... there's some amazing music on this album, in terms of audio engineering however, this pressing REALLY sucks in terms of sound quality, but it seems to be cause of the DIY recording equipment Maurice Moore used back in the 70's when recording this album. The old YouTube videos that has rips of the original acetate press shows how much work went into making this album sound as good as possible. What they were able to recover from old reel to reel tapes is actually kinda astounding. That deserves an applause, imo
