My favourite De La record, the full package - top beats, thoughtful bars and has aged very well. Repress please! Why does the record cost so much? It's not that rare.

If you haven't listened to this classic album in quite some time, go back to it and see what an incredibly well produced, message filled (Pos and Dave talk on relationships, racism, commercialism, life's hardships and other meaningful agendas) and great album it truly is, there has always been something about this album and the instant I throw it on my stereo, I am taken back to 1996 and what my life was like back then, I will always fondly remember a release party I put on for this great album and the massive turn out we had for that as well Stakes Is High is a joy to listen to from front to back but the highlights for me were "Intro", "Supa Emcees", Wonce Again Long Island" (should have been released as a single with a remix featuring some L.I. legends), "The Bizness", "Dinnit", "Brakes", "Dog Eat Dog","Long Island Degrees", "Betta Listen", "Itzsoweezee (Hot)", "Pony Ride", "4 More"," Stakes Is High" and "Sunshine"

The more I listen through De La's catalogue, the more I feel that perhaps Stakes Is High is their greatest release.
